My campaign is rooted in the belief that political discourse can be constructive. I aim to help bridge divides and foster collaboration among all parties.

I am an independent candidate for NY's 24th Congressional District. Born and raised in New York, I have lived almost all of my life in the state. The son of a mother raised in the midst of the Great Depression and a WWII veteran father, I, like the vast majority of Americans, favor compromise and common ground, a far less partisan government, and far more economically just society.

A first generation graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh, I became a mathematician and have worked as a teacher, research scientist, mathematics program officer, inventor, and science policy aide in the U.S. House of Representatives. Married for 36 years and blessed with four children, their partners and three grandchildren, my spouse Jean and I are now retired and depend largely on social security to live.

Being a scientist by training and a humanist at heart, I strive to consider all sides of an issue and to listen carefully to all arguments and opinions.  However, our political system is now broken and fiercely tribal. This dysfunction has allowed small, wealthy and increasingly politically powerful groups to succeed at the expense of the vast majority of everyday Americans.  For the sake of all, Unite for America and turn this around.
